FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Prepared September 21, 2010

FACETS Gem & Mineral Gallery of Newport is proud to announce that veteran owner/gemologist Richard Petrovic, has just successfully completed the 2010 Gems & Gemology Challenge again with a perfect score! Each year, the Gemological Institute of America, an authority on diamonds and colored stones, offers an exam to review and inform jewelers/gemologists of new discoveries and changes within their industry. This year hundreds of jewelers entered to acquire the necessary knowledge to maintain a higher level of expertise in the jewelry industry. Petrovic will be among the few that will be listed in the Fall issue of Gems & Gemology for a perfect score of 100%.

Best of Show...

As in most professional fields, continued education is a must to keep up with the changing times. The business of gem identification and jewelry appraisals is no different. This is just a part of Petrovic's dedication to continuing education. He was commended for his commitment and effort to increase his ability to serve the jewelry-buying public, ethically and professionally.

In June he also received his Presidents Volunteer Service Award, in recognition and appreciation of his commitment to strengthen our nation and for making a difference through volunteer service with the Newport Police Volunteers.

Visit FACETS, which is centrally located in Newport (as of May 2007) and easy to find, just one street west of McDonald's Golden Arches, in Newport at 1240 NW Grove Street with plenty of parking on site.
